SwanBank Gospel Choir

PrintSwanbank Gospel Choir was formed as a community choir in September 2011. It is a lively, friendly choir full of people of all ages and walks of life who share a common love and passion of singing and music.
SBGC have performed in a wide variety of locations and events including workshops and concerts at the Chester folk festival, Atherton Manchester, Adoration Stoke, they have performed on an open top bus at Scarborough seafront, been part of a scratch choir in Scarborough town centre, recorded a WW1 commemorative composition of silent night which was played at the Britannia Stadium and sung live at Port Vale football stadium, as well as performing regularly at local churches and care homes. Swanbank gospel choir is based at Swanbank Methodist church which is a thriving, growing community based church based in Burslem, Stoke on Trent.
The musical director and founder is Trudy Purkiss and assistant MD is Rebecca Wright- they are both passionate about sharing the gospel message through contemporary and relevant music. SBGC is open for anyone to join, there are no auditions the only requirement is you have to enjoy singing!
