Worship With UsWhat do you offer for my children?
Our children’s department is responsible for the ministries of the church specifically reaching those aged 0-11yrs.
As you explore the activities listed in this section you will be introduced to different people who lead the different children’s groups. Each leader and volunteer working with children is DBS cleared and has been seen to show a calling to work with this age group.
What does a normal service look like?
There is no normal service at Swanbank but we do have three opportunities for people to engage in collective worship on Sundays.
9am
Our 9am experience has a more traditional approach with hymns, contemplative prayer and biblical teaching. If you are looking for a quiet experience with time for silent reflection, this is the opportunity for you.
10:30am
Our 10.30am event is a vibrant, family orientated worship experience. We start with activities for all ages. Then around 11am the children and young people (ages 0 to 14) leave for Junior Church. The event concludes with everyone coming back together around noon.
On the fourth Sunday of every month the 10.30am event is an all age celebration. Children and adults worship together in a truly interactive style of worship.
6:15pm
The 6.15pm opportunity is a place to encounter God and each other with strong emphasis on exploring the Bible and discovering its relevance for our lives in light of today’s challenges.
For the more young at heart there is ‘The Group’ -an interactive, creative, Bible-focused youth group for those aged 13 to 18, starting at 8:15pm and finishing at 10pm.
How Do You Find Us?
By train, our nearest station is Longport Station from where you can then follow the signs into Burslem. Alternatively you can arrive at Stoke and get a taxi or bus to Burslem. We have a bus stop right outside the building.
How can Swanbank help other church leaders?
Secondly ECG (Equpping, Calling and Going). What is ECG all about? Quite simply, ECG is about bringing our community together. Each year we ask people of all ages to join us as we share in a five-day celebration of fellowship, worship and teaching. Although many of our speakers and delegates are from a Methodist background, we do not choose guests on the basis of their denomination. Instead, we invite those who we feel offer real insights into Christian teaching and who can help us to deliver what always proves to be an interesting, varied and family-friendly programme.
Thirly we have resources section on our website that has plenty of free resources for you to explore and use. Check out http://www.swanbank.org.uk/resources/ for more info.
